Archangels

Archangels are special in that they are the only angels who have their names actually listed in religious readings such as the Quran, Old Testament, and Torah making them somewhat familiar to most people. While that being said, it is important to remember that these angels cannot be defined by belief system alone because their energy expands across cultures and lenses. Additionally, the number of archangels tends to vary based on the scripture one chooses to read, however I will be listing the four most common angels mentioned in texts.

Archangel Michael: Ruler of Fire, Protector, Archangel of the South

Archangel Michael is known as the angel of protection because he leads the army of God against the battle of evil. He is commonly associated with the element of fire, the color blue, and the South direction. He may be called upon to protect belongings and people from evil forces as well as one's own mind. Additionally, he can illuminate the truth and aid in severing the connection between that which no longer serves you.

Archangel Gabriel: Ruler of Water, Messenger, Archangel of the West

Archangel Gabriel is known as the messenger angel because they act as a direct line of communication between Heaven and Earth. They are commonly associated with the West, the element of water, and the color orange. Additionally, Gabriel may be called upon to assist with creative projects, matters of children, and sending messages to God.

Archangel Raphael: Ruler of Earth, Healer, Archangel of the East

Archangel Raphael is known as the angel of healing because they have the ability to heal ailments in every realm- seen and unseen. They are commonly associated with the East, the element of Earth, and the color green. Raphael may be called upon to assist with illness, mental health, or even spiritual healing.
